How long does it usually take to upgrade to a Barclaycard Cashback Card?

Hi,

I called Barclaycard on the morning of 23 December 2015 asking if I could upgrade my Barclaycard Freedom Rewards card to their Cashback Duo Card. I was eligible for the upgrade and went ahead with the upgrade.

A day later on Christmas Eve, I received a text advising that they are processing the request and will be in touch shortly. On the 30 December I received a letter advising the same and that I'd receive my cards within 7-10 working days.

I waited 10 working days and phoned them on the 13 January to see where the cards are, they basically fobbed me off and said they're on their way.

I still haven't received the cards and its were now talking 22 working days since my first engagement with them. I'm tempted to call them again to see what's going on, but wondered if anyone had experienced the same as me.

I've upgraded today and they said they have processed the change straight away however i wouldn't receive my cards until the 18th feb. I thought this was very specific but never questioned it.

They process the application but the cards are not issued until after your next statement date. Say your statement date is 25 Dec. They will issue the cards next statement date around 25 Jan and you will get them around a week after. On what you have said early Feb will be the expected date to receive the cards. Hope this helps

that's interesting.. i assumed they would do it straight away.
when i changed from Freedom Rewards to Cashback the other day i cut up my FR card. no rush, as i have Nationwide Select in my wallet as an Amex back up... they can take their time. but i'm surprised they don't do it straight away.
