Hi there,
Have you considered writing to the bank? I'd send them a copy of your ID, employment contract and what wage slips you have got so far. If you can get a reference from your employer this usually helps but might be tricky as you've been in your job for a limited amount of time.
Also i'd suggest getting on the electrol roll and maybe mention this in your letter with some evidence that you have registered as it may not be instantly updated.
If not id wait a few months and maybe apply for a sub prime card.
