Vokera wireless thermostat

Hello

If this is the wrong forum would someone please move this post for me? I've had no replies so far and wonder if a different forum would be more appropriate. The 'unit' is a Vokera Combined Wireless RF Room Stat with 7 Day Clock.

Although I have changed the batteries I cannot get the Vokera 'unit' to allow me to set the comfort temperature. It seems to be stuck at 5 degrees. In addition to the three mode symbols automatic, party and standby there is another symbol- I think it is for override.

I have been able to change the time easily and this makes me think that some of the wireless unit is working.

The unit will not allow me to set the timer one hour blocks. When I try sometimes nothing happens and sometimes 'random' on blocks appear when I turn the 'wheel.' The timer dial won't allow me to change the temperature - it sometimes rises to 5.2 but mostly 'sticks' at 5 degrees. It's as if the 'unit' has lost the ability to allow the temperature to be selected.

I wonder if my wireless unit has broken and I need a new one or if I have inadvertently done something to it. Would I need to call the gentleman who installed my Vokera Boiler (installed April 2014) or could I order a new wireless programme unit myself?

The hot water is working but my flat is freezing and I can't get the heating to come on without the wireless unit working. If it could bypass the timer unit I think there would still be a problem because the temperature in the unit is stuck at 5 degrees. I tried to follow the You Tube clip I found but because the dial on the unit won't work I'm stuck. I'll be grateful for any advice, thank you - my flat really is cold. I'm hoping to avoid a Vokera call out charge if at all possible.

I believe that you simply need to read the user instructions to learn how to program the stat to your requirements.

The three symbols are Auto, Party, OFF and Advance - if the third symbol is displayed it is OFF not Standby

5 degrees is the default frost stat setting, not normal operating mode

Read the User Instructions here

To get some warmth until you can program the stat you can press the button on the box at the boiler end. The button should illuminate green and the boiler should fire up, all explained in the User instructions.

Thank you very much, cameltoe - I really appreciate your reply. I'll read the instructions from the helpful link you gave before I touch anything and report back.

Thank you for your help, camel toe. It turned out to be a faulty timer and the Gas Safe man came out. He was very good explaining it and tomorrow he is coming to fit the new timer.
