    Q. How long is a piece of string?

    A. It all depends.

In your example, much more detail is required.

e.g. How many transactions per month on average?
How much would each transaction be worth?
How will payment be taken? i.e. customer present or not?
    etc
    etc
  • Very low quantities of transactions, 1-2. But those transactions will typically be large, around £900-£1500.

Most likely payment taken over phone or online (not sure how that'd happen). But not customer present.

    Thanks for your help

  • Your best bet might be the new customer offer from barclaycard or whoever you hold the business bank account with

take a look at braintree payments, its part of paypal now, but they offer the first £30,000 in processing fee free, can take payments over the phone with the website, or set yourself up a payment page for a customer to make payments.

that's zero cost for the first £30,000 in payments, and afte that its 2.4% plus 20p per transaction

Probably the easiest to set up and cheapest is a Merchant Account from Paypal. It's £10 a month. The fees then are the same as a normal Paypal receipt, depending on your turnover, probably 20p transaction fee and 3.4%.
  • Love this braintree! Thanks for that
