At least you have made some payments, anything going down it better than up!! Slow and stead wins the race...
Granddogs lol they are the only grandchildren I am willing to accept for about 10 years, I hope!!!
Men moaning and whining....never! :rotfl: Sounds like your daughter is the right woman for the job to keep them in line! And a bonus that you get to see her since she's working closer to home.
My daughter is off to America for 3 weeks in Summer, she is off to San Francisco with 3 of her friends...I'm jealous! Not going away this year on a proper summer holiday....Anyone else going away to make me jealous?! xx
What a savvy financial decision you have made to establish your EF. :T:T I was so used to spending, this was a rather large accomplish for me...foreign territory.I'm currently working on increasing mine to 3-6 months. Slow going but I do like the bits of progress I'm making.
San Fran is a such great place to visit. With three weeks, they will have time to really get a feel for this pretty, unique, fun city. The Aruba dau (I have three) went to school near there on a soccer (football) scholarship. She loved going into San Francisco with her friends.
Ten years is about right. I had about given up on grandchildren. My children just kept going to school, traveling around the world and having fun. Everyone has finally settled and my 36 yr old got married and had a 'perfect' daughter who will be two yrs soon.
I'm excited for you to get that debt gone! Hurray for pay days!!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Aww that's lovely, bet you are loving being a Nan (don't know what you call yourself, so many names lol )
Traveling the world is what I wish for my daughter before she contemplates babies - luckily she agrees lol
Had a bit of a disaster this weekend...I lost my car key!!! I don't have a spare as bought the car with only one key...I called MINI and they wanted nearly £200!!! I estimated £80 lol I ended up getting a friend who knows a friend who knows a friend (one of them ones!) to get me one for £120, but still £120 I don't have.
Had to get some petrol to last me until the next pay day, plus went and got some shopping, I had also bought a chinese the night before and some beer before this ordeal, or I possibly wouldn't have.
I do have me emergency fund, but I don't want to use it haha
I have 10 days until pay day as the 15th is on a Sunday so will be paid on Friday, I have came under my petrol budget with all the petrol I will need topped up and provided I don't spend any more than £5.13 in the next 10 days then I will make it to the end of the month!! I have also had to use a week and a half of my food budget to fund the key so I will be making do with what we have. Made a big pot of soup so I will be eating that for 7 days as have 7 containers made up for lunches and made a curry today which will do tonight, tomorrow's dinner and a portion for the freezer for another 2 meals.
I don't know if it is possible, but we are about to find out!!! xxStarting debt £18,675.63

Hey Steerpike88!! I will be getting the scissors and coffee stirrers from work and doing the same - great idea!
I use Emma Hardie cleansing balm to take my make up off and at £55 a pot it does last about 3 months (my daughter is now into this so she uses it....I used face wipes at her age lol) I have about 3 weeks worth left until it runs out I am going to try out coconut oil for taking off make up....Emma Hardie has the same texture as coconut oil so probably bloody is just that with an expensive label and lied about the ingredients in hers lol will need to tell myself that anyway!!Starting debt £18,675.63

OK, even though I joined this site many moons ago I have only just reactivated my account. Can I just say Reality_Check I absolutely LOVE your diary. Please don't take offense but reading your diary is like reading about Becky Bloomwood from the Shopaholic books written by Sophia Kinsella :-)
I found your diary at 6am this morning and have literally been hooked. I'm spending my lunch break catching up on the rest.
BTW - how do I subscribe....
Good luck with your journey. I will definitely be rooting for you to come out on the other end.
Take Care x0 -
Hey AlmostThere! I've never read the book but I enjoyed the film so I'll take the compliment lol you click up the very top of the first post and there is a tool bar and will say subscribe to thread - I had to ask the very same question once. Thanks for cheering me on! :j
I am wishing my life away until pay day!! Roll on the 13th May!!
Not spent a penny today but have ate my weight in galaxy. I have a real craving for toast and beans tonight, which is just aswell as fillet steak is def not on the menu.
I've still not called Amazon...I will this week, but you just don't understand how draining it is...dramatic I know but it is! Virgin have credited my account by £250, so I am just leaving it with that rather than call again for the cheque like they said.
So glad to get in from work! Quickly walk the dog, have dinner and i've noticed new episodes of Suits have appeared on Netflix, so I will spend a few hours lusting over Harvey Spector! :happyhear xxStarting debt £18,675.63
Current debt: £5,000 (16/05/18)0 -
Wahey, thanks my dear. I'm now subscribed.
Since reading a few Martina Cole books back to back I was going to get some chic flicks to keep me entertained....I might just subscribe to a few more diaries now I know how and I'm good to go haha x
Nothing wrong with good ole beans on toast. My dinner consisted of a jacket potato cheese and beans!0 -
:jAttention readers: I made Yorkshire pudding for the first time and they were glorious! My guys are now hooked. I'm kind of sore from patting my own back. Must be my age as it didn't use to bother me.:D
Come on May 13th!
p.s. I don't get the whole beans and toast thing. I've read there is nothing like the beans you get here in the States. I assume it is a comfort food, quick and easy?Overprepare, then go with the flow.

ha ha it is addictive once you get into a new diary, this is the new soaps for me. I used to watch every soap under the sun, Eastenders, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and then cut back to Eastenders but that whole Lucy Beale drama drove me insane I stopped watching, but these diaries are far more entertaining!
I was on Instagram last night and Victoria Beckham put up a post of Sarah Chapman skin care she uses...this is what I use, I really don't have the same bank balance as her so this is a sign I shouldn't be on the same products as her lol
And yeah Mila it is a cheap and cheerful dinner but I'm a fan - but need to be in the mood for it. Must be white bread lots of real butter, topped with piping hot beans and some black pepper. I say beans and toast, but according to my daughter it's toast on beans and really annoying the way I say it...luckily that's the extent of all she really has to be annoyed with in life:rotfl:
Did the yorkshires turn out well then?! What did you have with them? Mine always look good then open the oven and they flop down! I am having sausages and mash tonight, another British classic lol
Hope your back gets better soon, should try some gentle yoga...Speaking of which I bought myself (pre car key loss) a Groupon for 10 birkham hot yoga classes, seemed a good idea at the time lol first class is this Saturday and I convinced my sister in law to buy one too so I didnt need to go alone, but can see it far enough!!Starting debt £18,675.63

Dinner was roast beef, mashed potatoes, carrots and gravy. The yorkshires were glorious! But, I had four left and have now eaten them all. Dangerous stuff!! Next time, I'll let them cool and freeze them immediately since I can't be trusted alone with such evil little temptations!
My back is fine..I was using 'patting myself on the back' as an idiom that means I was congratulating myself.:D
Hot yoga? My daughter and son have both gone to sessions. They found it helped detoxify their bodies. It will be fun hear about your experience and what your SIL thinks after you have gone.
Took my 13 yr old silky terrier>Toby to the groomer. He has gone to Amy's since he was 6 months old and he still needs a tranquilizer every time. He comes home acting like the whole thing was his idea as he always feels so studly and handsome.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Oh ha ha i thought you meant you had a sore back, read it back and clearly that's not what you meant :wall:
Yorkshire puddings are dangerous, but I do love them!
Spent 7 hours at A&E last night with my sister and my 2 year old nephew, he is fine though! I am so tired today due to minimal sleep, so ready to overdose on coffee. Last night at the hospital I bought a bottle of water at £1.89 each!! Nothing special just a standard Evian bottle, but they know they've got you there with nowhere else to go so need to pay it!
Nothing much to report, apart from the water yesterday and nearly buying a few things from Zara online (I never) my no spending is going well. Tomorrow is a week until pay day already, where has the month gone!!!Starting debt £18,675.63
