Passport Application

Hi Guys,
I recently processed our application via the Gov.uk website, made payment for the renewal of mine and my wife's passport. However it states to send the application declaration (this needs to be printed off after completion of payment) to an address in Belfast, but really worried about it. Has any ever sent their passport renewal application to the Belfast address. I was thinking as I live 10 mins from the Liverpool passport office I could just drop it off their?? But will they just tell me to send it to Belfast or do they have the means to process it there.

Belfast is in the UK, so it would be reasonable to assume that they have exactly the same resources to process applications as any other UK passport office.
I think Belfast is the office that either deals with the online applications en-masse or that they otherwise direct applications to the office with the shortest current waiting list.
My last renewal went there and came back in quite creditable time, so its no worry at all - and IIRC the renewal before that went to Liverpool. I've only ever had one passport of mine actually renewed in Scotland.
From what I've gathered, its only mail inexplicably diverted to Belfast that you need to be concerned about - as that's where they send anything really suspicious for "processing."0 -
You need to send it to the office they tell you to, that is where the rest of your application is being processed.
There doesn't seen to be any logic as to where applications are processed, sometimes ours go through Peterborough, sometimes Durham, sometimes Belfast.
It's only the declaration you need to send, they have the rest. What is it that you are worried will happen to it?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Don't actually know what I'm worried about, only thing I can think of is it going missing in the post, as we have to include our marriage certificate with my wife's as it still shows her maiden name.
Thanks for your advice. I've since spoke to a friendly lady on the advice line who tell me the staff in Belfast are more efficient.
Just me, worrying about nothing0 -
Just make sure you send it Special Delivery.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

You can hand it in personally at the Liverpool office if it's that close to you. They have an internal postbox in the office where you can deliver it to - saves it getting lost in the post.
It doesn't really matter which office you post or hand it in to.0
