Virgin Interest Charge

Options
I just received my statement from Virgin showing an interest charge of £30 evnthough I paid off the full amount by the due date shown on the statement. On querying it with Virgin ,I was toldthat as my interest free period ended on the 21st July(3 months interest free) and I didnt pay off the full amount 'til 17th August ,I had been chargeds interest daily until thatdate.I asked why the statement didnt show that a certain amount had to be paid by the 21st July but didnt get a straight answer . Am I being naive?

Virgin (MBNA) 0% end dates normally coincide with your statement date - not the payment due date.

Is your statement date the 21st July (or 22nd July) by any chance?

What did the 'estimated interest next month' figure say on your July statement?

A tip...because not all providers notify you of the 0% end date on their statements, I always ask the CSA during the activation call - and then write the date on the top of the credit agreement for future reference.
  • Thanks for info .
the statement date was 25th July -she may have said 25th on the phone. The estimated interest was £42.
Am awaiting a call back from manager within next 48 hours.
