Monitor Stand Problem

Something seems to have gone wrong with the stand, in that the monitor has dropped right to the bottom and can no longer stay tilted up (if you try, it just drops back down again).
To try and clarify it looks like this: / ← whereas I'd prefer it to be like this: \ ← (the arrow is me looking at it).
I've taken the display off its stand but there seems no obvious way of tightening up the tilting mechanism.
Anyone got any ideas?

Does it have holes to mount a VESA standard wall bracket? If so, is that an option for you?

I'm attaching some pictures for clarity. Unfortunately wall mounting wouldn't work for me, even if it's possible.0

Look for a replacement monitor then? Either a new one, or fleabay.

I fear that may be the only option. Shame really as, despite its age, it's a very good display.0

Why not just get a new stand for it?!
Something like this:

I would love to get a new stand, but just found this:
http://www.prad.de/en/guide/screen338.html
where it says "VESA mount: No". Does that mean it's only compatible with the stand it was supplied with?0 -
In your photograph there are two screw holes at the top. If you measure the distance between those and it's 75 or 100mm, then you might be able to bodge a fitting to a VESA standard bracket. If those two holes at the bottom are threaded and fit the VESA dimensions, it might be even easier.

The two screw holes at the top are 75mm apart, as are the two empty screw holes at the bottom.
I just took another (unused) display off its stand, hoping I could swap them, but unfortunately the other stand seemed to be for the 100mm fitting.0
