    Thanks Dawn! Early retirement (or at least making sure employers can no longer use money as a weapon) is indeed the goal.

    WRT your questions, I think we're covered on 2 out of the 3, and I'd like to think that performance of some good funds will exceed my mortgage interest, but would be arrogant to count on it.

    Perhaps the real solution is "a bit of both"?
