£100 per month is £1200 per year. That will save a lot of interest over the mortgage term
My db is a mortgage advisor and he told me if you overpay by £100 pm you knock off 5 years off of the term :jDF as at 30/12/16
Wombling 2025: £87.12
NSD March: YTD: 35
Grocery spend challenge March £253.38/£285 £20/£70 Eating out
GC annual £449.80/£4500
Eating out budget: £55/£420
Extra cash earned 2025: £1950 -
It depends really - can you get more than 3.4% on any investments? And are there any penalties regarding overpaying your mortgage? Are there any tax implications (I think I remember you mentioning you rent out your property)?
WRT your questions, I think we're covered on 2 out of the 3, and I'd like to think that performance of some good funds will exceed my mortgage interest, but would be arrogant to count on it.
Perhaps the real solution is "a bit of both"?0 -
