in Credit cards
i recently tried to get an engagement ring for my girlfriend and was declined, ive always seemed to have problems with credit for some strange reason,
i joined experian and looked at my report which shockingly was good, i missed 3 payments on a loan juat under 1 year ago but everything else was good.
i got them to tell me what they thought my score would be and it came out. at 899 out of 1000:T , great i thought..... but no, i still cant get credit????
i managed to get a HIGH interest card to go down that route but still cant understand the whole thing.
im on the electoral roll, in full time employment, i rent and have a decent wage with only 1 store carda nd a loan fully repaid 2 months ago,
please help

Further proof that CRA 'scores' aren't worth the paper they're written on, or the money you pay for them.
The fact that you've missed 3 loan repayments in the last year will be playing a major part in your inability to gain credit.
The fact that you rent will also play a (albeit much smaller) part. However, when coupled with the late payments it could have more of an influence.
If there is nothing else on your Equifax or CallCredit reports, then I'm afraid this may be a case of 'time is a good healer'.
Use the high interest card each month, pay on time, and try again in a year or two. Above all, don't be tempted to fire off applications here, there, and everywhere in the hope that you'll get something.0
