Think Money Bank Account

Has anybody had any experience with claiming back the monthly fee for accounts with think money? You don't actually get any extras for the fee, just that they keep your direct debit money separate and that you can't go overdrawn.

  • The card that they issue you with , is a pre paid MasterCard. So your wages and then they retain all your regular out goings , like direct debits etc , transfer the rest to your account B
So it's like every other pre paid debit card , you pay a fee . I was with them for 6 years and when I challenged them that's what I was told .
They are a managed account provider . HTH

There is no "help" available as you don't have any complaint.

You will receive nothing back. Accept this, you'll sleep better.

I didn't know I didn't have a complaint. Hence the reason I posted on a forum! Sorry but I thought that was what this forum was for! If you don't have anything helpful to say, then don't say anything at all!
  • How is it "not helpful " to say you have no complaint? If I told you that you did have a valid complaint then THAT would be unhelpful.

As it's obvious you intend to complain about your managed bank account fees regardless, there is little point continuing this exchange.

Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed.

Your first post indicated you felt you had a reason for complaint. Although you didnt actually state what the reason for complaint was.

You are getting extras for the fee. You are getting the managed service which is what the fee is for. you seem to want that fee back by raising a complaint. However, you havent said what wrongdoing thinkmoney have done. There isnt anything wrong with their fee. So, what exactly have they done wrong?

  • I won't be making a complaint regardless, I came here for advice as I wasn't sure if the fees could be claimed back, it's not even my account I was enquiring about!
Do you not have anything better to do than to try and make an argument out of nothing? All I wanted to do was to get some helpful advice, which is what I received from the first person that replied. Therefore, end of topic in my opinion. But no, the keyboard warriors are out in force.
This is the second time I've posted on moneysavingexpert forum in 5 years and I can safely say I won't bother again!

If you cant take sound advice then its probably a good thing.
    I won't be making a complaint regardless

So, why did you ask about making a complaint?

  • mmm, I've seen quite a few of these guy's posts, wonder if they have interests in some of the big banks at all...? Always dismissing people's claims, they must be positively salivating at the deadline coming in for PPI!
My advice, apply for everything you can, even if you have little evidence, if they dismiss it go to the relevant appeal body.
Looking forward to the next big round of claims, undisclosed commission on insurance and pension policies anyone?
