LG Washing machine keeps stopping

My LG washing machine is playing up, it's model no F1256QD.

It stops mid cycle coming up with error code OE, sometimes I can just put it on a spin cycle and it works, other times nothing works, it makes a noise, but doesn't drain or spin and it has to be drained. The last time DH drained it as the weight reduced it started to spin on its own. He keeps checking the filter, originally there was a clip in there, but nothing in there since. It does seem to be a weight related issue.

Any ideas please what part I may need?

Many thanks

You need to replace the pump motor. I had to do one of these recently. Exact same symptoms. You can buy the complete pump unit whole (Pumps, filter, etc), or if you're feeling brave, you can just replace the pump on its own.

Before you do that, just check that the hose connection to the waste pipe isn't blocked.

Try googling "lg washing machine error code oe"

And you will get this advice

"An OE error code indicates that the washer was unable to drain the water. The main causes for this error code are a kinked drain hose, a clogged drain pump filter, or a problem with the drain pump itself."

Thanks so much, he thought it may be the pump, but I wanted to check before I ordered. We will check that pipe first though.

    Thanks again
