After recommendations elsewhere going to switch the Western Digital HDD for a very similar Seagate model (same everything inc price, but 5 year warranty and supposedly much more reliable).
New spec:
Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 939 CPU £100
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 8MB SATA 120GB HDD £55
Geil Value 1Gb PC3200 DDR 512MB (2x Kit) £70
Gigabyte GA-K8V Ultra-939 motherboard £65
PSU: Scan 400W Silent ATX £15
Graphics: Gigabyte Radeon 9550 256MB DDR £50
Budget: £350
Budget remaining: £-50 -
Nice, save even more £££'a by not going 64bit.

Don't forget Kingston. All these brands are good, talking to different people will just give you different views.

For a rig like that you wont find much diff between leading RAM brands. You'll be OK with Geil, OCZ, Crucial, Kinston or Corsair.

True, you only gain with OCZ if you are really trying to overclock and want to keep the memory at 1:1. (The top OCZ stuff is around £180 for 2 x 512Mb). However, users have shown that running memory dividers doesn't impact the performance significantly.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:
