Hi, hope someone can help please. A friend of mine has severe allergies to wheat, nuts and eggs, and her children have a dairy intolerance.
Has anyone got any recipes for edible biscuits, cakes and bread please?
She has tried using the wheat free flour, but the results aren't very tasty to be honest.
Corn flour (the pure stuff, rather than the corn flour which is cut with wheat) is another alternative, but again, the results haven't been very nice.
Has anyone cooked something tasty with rice flour, or potato flour or similar?
Any tips, help, suggestions or recipes much appreciated. Sorry if this has been posted before. I did search, but couldn't find anything similar.
Grateful thanks. Mav x

How about flapjacks with oats/dairy-free margerine/sugar/golden syrup? They're gorgeous with a splash of maple syrup.0

See the Cooking section of the MEGA Index thread.
For wheat free bread see The Complete Breadmaking Collection.
For nut free - easy---> don't add any
Dairy free is a bit more scattered, so a search will help you find more threads like this one - Egg & Dairy free birthday cake recipe?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I was looking at this site earlier today and it gives details of safe grains. I don't think there are any recipes but it may give you a couple of ideas for substitutes.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Erm... should there be a link in there somewhere?
Oh, and a further suggestion for the OP...
Googling for something like "wheat free" +recipe exactly as written in red, should help find all sorts of useful places.
Trolling local jumble and boot sales can often source good cheap books too.

If you look in your local library or search their online pages, ours has several books for allergy sufferers.
Maybe something like this would be helpful for the little ones ? http://www.feedmeallergyfree.co.uk/allergyfree-recipe-book.php probably more adult based http://www.allergyfreerecipes.co.uk/index.html amazon has some aswell
Amazon search link
which of course then can be searched for in libraries. One day I might be more organised...........

Many thanks everyone.
I was hoping that someone would actually have tried some of the wheat free recipes and could report back on taste.
We have googled for wheat free recipes, obviously, but couldn't find much which didn't include egg or wheat free flour, which doesn't taste that good.
Apologies if i haven't searched the recipe indexes on here thoroughly enough.Live on £4000 for 2008 Challenge No. 27:eek:0 -
Maverick, I found the library had loads of books on this subject. I really wouldnt buy any as I have only been interested in using 1 or 2 recipes out of any book I have borrowed. I was only looking for wheat free but they definatley had many combinations of books including wheat/nut/egg and dairy free. Might be your best option.
