    get a grip.

someone you don't know, or care about said they spent THEIR child benefit on their children rather than on fags and bppxe.

you're the only one taking it as a personal attack on your parents.

it isn't being bullied.... its you taking it out of context
and what does alcohol and cigarettes have to do with me having a student loan?

you are complaining that the OP suggested your parents don't care about you.

obviously has nothing to do with student loans.

you are the one that is making the weird connections here ;)

I just want to put whatever I can afford, as little as that may be into a account to help my children and am being bullied for doing so.
But you are allowed to do that, up to £6,000, so what is the issue? Surely if you are managing to save each month so that you end up over this amount, it raises the issue whether you are spending adequately to meet the needs of your children now. Children benefit from exposure to things that cost money, books, days out, activities etc.... restricting these to save above £6K for their uni fund is not forcibly doing the best for them anyway.

I posted how I had a student loan to make up for the tuition shortfall and the OP's response is how parents spend benefit money on cigarettes and alcohol. But it's really just some totally random comment about other parents? OK :)

OK, I'm not going to sit here and explain how many days out a year we go on, or how much I love my children, nor am I going to argue to prove I feel I'm doing the right thing or even argue against those that think I'm saving the money for myself (even though I want it locked in a account until my children are 18, in there names)

All I wanted to do was give my children a good start to there adult life, I feel as if I've came on here and said 'I spend all my money on myself, is thast OK?' Maybe I would have gotten a better reply. if people think somehow I am screwing them over by using the tax money I can only apologize.
Chances are I'm in this thread asking questions as I love to learn new stuff. (Did you know all polar bears are left handed?)

there are many parents posting on this thread.
for you to take it as applying to your parents is a bit of a jump.

do you think everyone that has a different opinion to you is a bully?

You know that many people who are not eligible for any benefits are not in a position to save a penny for their children's future. Thankfully, we live in a country when education is accessible to everyone, and many also do very well building a career without it, or studying part-time whilst holding a full-time job. You won't ruin your children's life just because you can't save above £6K for them.

I don't think you have helped endear yourself to many on here due to the other thread you started a few days ago.....You asked about being allowed to save for yourself and your partners future( no mention of the kids). After you realised the ramifications of that idea you start a new thread asking to save money in the kids names for their future... It does seem like you want to try and get under the radar, which would be fraud.
