cancelled payment issue

I'll try and keep the background short ...

I win a bid on eBay. For some reason it gets processed as echeque. seller sends item before echeque clears, no proof of postage etc. due to unforeseen circumstances echeque doe not clear and gets cancelled. buyer informs me but I cant repay on PayPal. buyer opened non payment dispute but when I try to pay via this method it won't let me as says payment is being processed.

I spoke to eBay who were less than helpful. basically they said I would get an unpaid strike and the buyer should not had sent the item until cleared payment. Buyer ignoring me so even though I want to pay I am in limbo.

any suggestions?

why did you let a paypal payment fail to clear?

I suggest you try to contact the seller and pay by postal order or bank payment

Can you not make a separate payment to their PayPal address with item number as a reference and a quick message? Then contact eBay to let them know what you've done

I was thinking along those lines but I think eBay's response of they should not have sent it until payment cleared made me question myself!

I think you have your buyers and sellers muddled.

Assuming you are the buyer, you should be able to send the funds again via Paypal. If you can't do that by logging in and retrieving the details, you can use Ebay to request the phone number of the seller. Give them a ring and explain.
