Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) protects against being unable to pay debt on specific finance (such as loans and credit cards) in the event of unemployment.
Life Insurance pays out a lump sum in the event of the policy holder's death.
The two types of policy are entirely unrelated and it would be difficult to argue life insurance was mis-sold unless you are immortal...0
