What effect do searches by debt collection agencies have on my credit score

Looking at my credit noodle report the today I've noted that while every thing seems ok with no bad debt. My score is only 4 out of 5.
The only things that might effect it is searches by debt agencies casting about for someone with a similar name or it could be my lack of mortgage and credit cards (all paid of in the last few years) any ideas which?
