Download winpatrol instead will be more detailed, doesn't sound like you need them though do some googling, I havent heard of them though you can try disabling them through winpatrol and if its stopped something you want enable it again.

ATIPTA - not needed. Just a convenience for ATI graphics cards. You can still tweak its settings via Control Panel - Display.

HPDT Taskbar utility - do you mean HPDJ? HP Deskjet utility. Again not really necessary. You can usually access the utility functions via Start - All Programs.

I think you have to buy winpatrol, I don't really want to go to that extent for it but I took those 2 things off the start up anyway and its ok so far :)

    Thankyou both of you

I see they recommend using the inbuilt MS one if you have Vista

'Startup Control Panel is compatible with all modern versions of Windows through Windows XP. Windows Vista, after all these years, finally has a very good startup manager built-in; go to Control Panel > Performance Information and Tools, and then click on Manage Startup Programs on the left.'

Is this in the advanced mode? It says you have got to know what you are doing if you switch to advanced mode:eek:
