Kitchen appliances, can anyone advise/review these?

Options
We're redoing our kitchen soon and i'm now looking for the new appliances.

We need a cooker (freestanding, double oven and gas), dishwasher (freestanding, 12 place setting) and a side by side american fridge freezer (in silver, without water/ice dispenser).

We like the look of

Cooker: Stoves 61GDO

Dishwasher: Hotpoint FDW60P

Fridge/Freezer: MSZ802

Has anyone got one of these and can tell me what they think. Are hotpoint any good for fridge/freezers? We've always had hotpoint washer/dryers with no probs.

TIA for any help

Hotpoint is now owned by Indesit, all the machines are now hybrids and generally not very good ones.

Do you really have to have a washer dryer? They are, for the most part, absolute rubbish.

Stoves, okay, not the worst but not the best.

FF, what is it you actually need?

  • we have that hotpoint dishwasher and I hate it. We got it to replace the old version of the same model that died. This one has really fiddly baskets, won't fit a pint glass or a large wine glass in the top to wash, and the upper basket is really restrictive. It has a "knife shelf" at the top right to put sharp knives on, but if you have anything (like little cups) below it, the knives don't get clean as they don't get any spray on them. It just bakes on whatever you've cooked.

The lower basket unbalances when you pull it out if it's full, as the runners don't have any way of holding it up. And the space where you put your dishwasher tablet/powder is tiny, and frequently snags on the upper basket when I'm opening the door. It's noisy too, and you can hear the spray arms rotating.

I'd avoid, like the plague, if we were buying again! Don't get me started on their aftercare. They have no direct email, and seem in no hurry to help when you do contact them.

We had a hotpoint washer when we moved in, and that was rubbish too. We have a Zanussi now, and it's fantastic. Highly recommended.
