Club Lloyds Saver Account - Interest

Hi,

I set up a Club Lloyds Saver account last February. I know that the interest is paid "on maturity". Silly question, does that mean it'll be paid when I close the account or after the 12 month term?

If you close the account, you will get interest up to the date of closure, and it will be paid on the date of closure.

Can this account be closed online? Mine gives an error when I attempt to do this (the balance is zero).

You couldn't close the account after 12 months as it will automatically close after 12 months.

Why not just let it sit there until it disappears by itself?
