Application for credit "referred"

bathbun
I want a new bathroom and though I have sufficient founds to pay outright I was advised to get credit. I did not consider the effect of this on my credit rating. As my income is limited, the credit application was "referred" and I now need to provide further details. If I refuse to go any further with this application will it adversely affect my credit rating?

One search on your credit file won't have any effect.
It's when there are lots of searches in a short space of time that causes problems as this makes you look desperate for credit0 -
Why borrow the money if you have the savings to pay the work?0

I would put everything especially something £100 or more on credit and pay for it later. Maybe the OP doesn't have a credit card and is applying for credit now to protect herself against the supplier going out of business between the time or ordering and the goods being delivered.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
