Car Warranty issue
Purchased a car in December which was 8 weeks old on a 65 plate with 40 miles on the clock.
When we went to collect the car the tyre pressure light was on and given it was the 23rd December and the car was an Xmas present we paid for the car on the proviso it was retuned first week of January for the repair.
Three weeks down the line the car is still with the garage because they have had a problem getting the warning light off, they have changed the whole dash cluster but still no joy,we are no further down the line.
Given the age of the car can I demand a replacement given they have not been able to rectify the problem.
They are now advising a Ford Master technician will be coming from Ford sometime next week to try and sort the issue

8 week old car registered to who previously? A total lemon the previous owner rejected? Or a courtesy car or pre-reg?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

What date exactly did you purchase the car? Under new legislation you now have a short term right to reject the vehicle of 30 days. Personally I'd inform the dealer that you will be rejecting the car unless a fix is identified this coming week.0

Just to advise the vehicle as been repaired today.
The repair took three weeks, firstly they changed the full instrument cluster and it did not solve the issue then we have had to wait a week for a Master Technician to come from Ford and I have no idea yet what he as done but I have been advised the car is ready for collection in the morning.0 -

Whats known as a Demo vehicle .
Dealership is required to have x number of vehicles available for demonstration purposes .
Usual that these vehicles will be run by a member of staff for 3 to 6 months .Normally any faults are fixed asap .Other scene is where the manufacture has a bonus on x card sold and dealership registers the vehicles in their own name .
Usually the best way of buying a almost new vehicle .0 -
Unlikely to be a demo if only 40 miles in 8 weeks (unless it's something that nobody is interested in test driving at all). So I'm guessing it's a pre-reg, reg'd by the dealer near year end in order to qualify for an annual sales bonus.
OP would have been out of time now to reject under CRA, if purchased 23/12.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
