had to laugh re energy bill
I am with Scottish power and been meaning to do a comparison for ages, last time I did I was ok where I was. Anyway following martins advice I did it again and woohoo I supposedly am now saving £300 a year. 2 days later my old £64 a month DD went up to £80 emm how is that cheaper ? lol I know it goes on fuel usage and its cold at the moment but I did have to laugh

If the comparison was based on you using standard rate with your present provider, though you have a fix, then savings are way below those suggested.
The increase in DD does not mean you pay more. It just means you are using more power than expected , at the moment, or your DD was underestimated and wouldn't cover your usage.
My payments have gone up, to cover these colder days , as my provider refunded the money built up in the account to meet winter increases. When my next bill is calculated, I will ask for the payments to be reduced again, as springtime usage will be lower.0
