Mortgage Renewal in Sept - OK to apply for new credit card now?

I have one very old card with a very high credit limit on it with a zero balance, that I am going to keep in line with Martin's advice.

But I have two cards with balance transfers on them, both at 0%, but one runs out in September around the time I will be renewing my mortgage. I was thinking of getting a new long term 0% card now, transferring both balances and cancelling the two cards, leaving one old card, one Halifax Clarity which I will need for holidays, and the one new one.

I checked my credit rating today on Experian and it was 999, so I am hoping if I apply for a new card now and cancel the others, everything will be ok for the mortgage come August/September.

I'm new to this forum, so very grateful for any advice. Thanks!

Thanks for the information. I am afraid I took out a 4,567,921 million dollar loan this morning from a guy in Nigeria. I found his details in my spam mail just yesterday.

No credit checks required, I just provided him my passport information, bank and sort code details. Seemed totally legit and completely legal!

Tomorrow I will fly to Amsterdam and collect my money in person at the airport.
