Prague - when would I get a cheaper deal?

My parents are looking to go to Prague round about the week commencing Mon 22 Oct for 3 nights. However they were also looking to go on Fri 19 til Mon 22 Oct. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether they are more likely to get a cheaper deal over the weekend or during the week?

Sloppychops/GlenntheBaker did kindly quote me roughly £424 for 19-22 Oct but unfortunately they want something cheaper still and not sure if i'm going to get a hotel with decent enough reviews.

Hotelscentral.co.uk is pretty good. The Machova is £46 pn B&B, not badly located and quite a good hotel. You can search through and pick according to budget. It's not that important to be overly central as the Metro and Trams are excellent.

Have a look at www.airmiles.co.uk Deal of the day includes Prague and you can select from a grid the best priced days. Don't worry about the airmiles if you don't have any as you can select a fuul pay option. Best I could see was £141 for 2 out of Gatwick with BA. For hotels you could try www.airline-network.co.uk or www.octopustravel.co.uk . Prices on airline network for a 3star hotel for 3 nights started at £118.

Can they fly from any other airports apart from Manchester?
    What is their budget?

  • They can only fly from Manchester with a budget of around £300-£350 at a decentish hotel! I found flights for roughly £133 (Jet 2 and BMI baby) and I also found this 4* hotel located in the very centre of Prague which doesn't open until September apparently (whether this is a good or a bad thing?!) using this site http://www.prague.st has anyone used them? Its the Amarilis Hotel at a special rate of 88 euros per night which using the converter comes out as about £179 for three nights.

  • Thanks sloppychops looks like a nice hotel - however what are your thoughts on what I posted earlier - have you heard of that website I mentioned and do you think my parents would be risking it going to a hotel that doesn't have any reviews yet because it doesn't open til September?

Sorry cant help you out with the website as i have never had any dealings with them at all.The Amarilis looks good enough but without reviews etc there is no knowing what its going to be like.It says it opening in September but what if work is put back with it,your left looking again for another hotel.Decisions decisions and theres only you that can decide which hotel your going to go for.

Wow have you really well let's hope you enjoy your stay - stumbled upon the site and thought the rates were really good for a 4* but suppose it was so cheap because of it being a brand new hotel. I had been searching for days for a cheap but centrally located 4*. I'd be gutted if i found out the hotel is rubbish as its booked now! I am still waiting for my confirmation of reservation (however only booked this today). I'm glad the company exists however and that the tourist office is aware of its existence etc, I was a little dubious myself! Scheduled to open on the 7th Sept I believe.

On speaking to the girls on the online chat thing on their website (sounds seedy that doesn't it lol) they say the hotel doesn't accept any debit cards when paying only credit cards or euros/czech. Any chance you can clarify this? Settling for payment using euros at the mo but would like to know what the crack is from someone who has been thanks.
