On 5/10 edition of Rip off Britain today, 22nd January, Bruce had to cancel his holiday because his wife was found to be ill, she subsequently died a few months later.
Thomsons refused any refund.
Thomsons sold his flights and the hotel became fully booked, so they did not incur any real losses.
In law Thomsons can only hold back their losses roughly speaking and not the whole of the money the Bruce paid.
He handled his own case and the judge awarded him full reimbursement and £300.00 costs.
He said he knew he was right and it gave him confidence.
Well done Bruce, you have my condolences about your wife.
The episode should be on BBC iplayer at a later date, well worth watching, make a note of it.
