Holiday Not As Described

We booked a holiday with Hoseasons for the Christmas break , we called them to book as one of the main requirements was to have a washer dryer as we have a new baby and 2 other children and get through a lot of clothes, we also didn't take enough clothes for the 10 day break as we knew we could wash them while away. When we arrived we found that our cabin did not have a washer or dryer, the site recepetion said that that cabin type did not have one. We check the hoseasons website and it clearly said that it does have one (website since been updated to change this but we have a screen shot). The site couldn't change us to another cabin which had one as it was fully booked they said all they could do was let us use the washer dryer in reception. We had driven a long way and decided that's all we could do but it had put a real downer on the holiday and we were prepared to go home but decided to stay. The site was very helpful but we had to spend every couple of days going to the reception to do our washing. We called hoseasons and they admit a mistake on their part but say that a washer dryer is not a necessity which we believe was as this was one of our main requirements. They said they could offer us £40 compensation which we feel is inadequate on a £1400 holiday. Any advise on this matter would be much appreciated.

How much money would you consider acceptable? Make them an offer of this much.
Did you have to stay in reception while doing the washing, or could you leave it and come back to it later? How far was it to reception? And how many washloads did you do over the break?0 -
Tbh I think £40 plus free use of the washer-dryer in reception is reasonable compensation but that's just me. How much do you think would be fair? Perhaps if the baby is in cloth nappies, you could've asked them to pay for him to use disposables for the holiday, but at an average 10p per nappy, that would only be an extra £10 maximum.0

welcome to mse . Its just unfortunate but not really a holiday big issue if everything else was good . a few times in reception getting your washing done isn't a biggy . see if they throw you a voucher or guarantee upgrade next time . hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

And when I flew round the world as few years back, I took enough pants to the get to the next destination. Then I left them in the bucket at the hotel, bough a new pair, and moved on. I travelled light.
And you had no access to a sink to hand wash for 10 days! In future, I would ask for the wet nurse!0
