As above, a LBA may yield the necessary result without court action. But even if you did resort to court action (search for MCOL) the costs of the action would be added to the claim.

In balance i recently bought goods from an online seller, paid via Paypal, goods never arrived, seller wouldn't communicate at all, opened a dispute with Paypal, all very easy and within about 10 days i had a full refund. So my experience of Paypal was total opposite and they do offer protection.
  • Usually for Paypal a tracking number showing item delivered is proof enough it's been delivered... a signature is not essential.
What they care about is that the address is that of the buyer when checking the tracking.

I know this as I had to open a claim once; I sent back the item to the seller using myHermes and in my case I also went with the option of requiring a signature just to be on the safe side. I gave Paypal Parcel2Go tracking number as I had booked on there and they came back asking me to send something where they could see the address it was sent to as it wasn't shown on Parcel2Go tracking. I did that and they closed the case in my favour.
Since the seller had never communicated with me and I wasn't provided a prepaid return label, I lost money as the return postage wasn't refunded to me

I suspect since the seller knows paypal has sided with them, they won't be interested in helping you any further now. I would say the fault lies with the courier company leaving the item in what seems to have been an unsafe place.
  • I've had this exact problem and registered on this site to see what can be done.
I bought a stepper on ebay and the sender posted it via parcel2go.
The tracking says it was "delivered to porch"
Yet I have no porch and no stepper.
I contacted parcel2go who told me they will only deal with the seller.
However as I've opened a case online the seller says ebay will side with them as there is a tracking number so im wasting my time.
    What else can I do??
