Claiming ppi...army life..different addresses and can't remember!

Hello everyone! First I apologise because even after reading up I just don't know where to start with trying to claim back ppi. My husband is in the British army and since 1996 we have moved around alot! We had various loans and credit cards (all ended now) but I don't have all the paperwork nor can I remember which companies we used. I also wouldn't know which address for which loan! 😕
I would really appreciate some information on just how to get started!
My husband and I are now separated but friendly and would like to see if we could claim back any money jointly.
It just seems like an impossible task and I'm wondering if our best option is to use a ppi reclaim company?
Any help very very very gratefully received! X

If you used a claims co, you would have to provide the info, if you don't know your details, they certainly won't.
You will have a real struggle if you cannot remember the lenders and your previous residency details.
Think this will be a no go.0 -
Your last 6 years will be on your credit record, beyond that it's just guesswork. Under the DPA lenders have to delete old records when they are no longer needed (typically 6 years) so if you've got no records anything pre 2010 would have a high chance of being a non-starter anyway as you could never prove you paid it. A CMC will just send out generic complaints to everyone without bothering to even check if you had anything which will harm your credibility e.g. if they complain about CC PPI when you didn't have it but did have it on a loan with the same company
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Your data is not in the public domain. Credit records will show some detail the last 6 years but your memory and own records are the only thing that goes back further. A CMC cannot find out for you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Closed account method, but if you can't remember who you had credit with, no one else will know eiher
