Management Comany has changed during conveyancing!

I am in the process of selling my leasehold flat where I currently live and I am in the process of buying a 2 bed semi. All offers were accepted in December and the legal side is now being dealt with by the solicitors. I am patient and understand English Law is a nightmare when it comes to selling/buying.
I was asked to pay for a management pack which was forwarded onto my solicitor - £240. It contains all the usual info - 3 years accounts, insurance etc etc etc.
What has worried me is that I came back from work this evening and I had a received a letter from the freeholders stating that the management company had just changed as they were not happy with the running of the previous company.
I have forwarded this letter to my solicitor but she is off. Does this mean because the management company has changed during the conveyancing process that I will have to fork out money again for a new management pack?

  • Your landlord isn't changing. Agents act only in the name of the landlord and new agents carry on with handed-over management files. Leastways that's the legal theory. I've found agents claiming everything that happened before them is irrelevant to them (not true any more than a change in cop shift don't get you released from nick) but they are legally the landlord's agents/mouthpiece and unless they can show there was something missing in the seller's pack you recently got, you have paid for your seller's pack already. Don't go inviting them to recharge/reissue as they may well say thanks and do it.
