Why magnolia

I liked my previous paint colour I had but the problem was it was really hard to find and repaint only a section spoilt by kids. I am inclined to get magnolia because it is most easily available paint in the country.

Not that I don't like it but why magnolia seems to be a standard!

Buy an extra tin of a nice colour when you paint the room?

And don't keep the paint outside.

Magnolia, like white, is easy to mass produce and is neutral, but it is less harsh than white.
  • I love white. So be bright and dent matter if you go over the skirting boards etc.

Magnolia comes in different shades you'll probably find a batch you buy years later doesn't match the previous batch. The wall may have faded and you'll need to repaint the whole room.

    How often do you repaint?

I hate magnolia. It is the most boring paint ever.

Magnolia is popular as it is the colour white goes when it gets a little grubby. So it is still bright and light, but it doesn't look tired quite so quick.

If you buy a huge tub of magnolia, can you mix in any kind of die to make a cheap interesting paint? I reaslise you wouldn't be able to replicate the colour again, but if you use a very large tub it should cover a few rooms

I was in B&Q earlier this week and I was pleased to see a "discontinued" sticker over Magnolia on the sample board!!!

Magnolia is still sold in vast quantities.

It is just given slightly more trendy names by Dulux and the other big guys. Urban moon, Frosty dawn, Warm Morning blah de blah. It's all magnolia!
