In theory this should be on the HPC thread of the week, however since it highlights how dangerous the views of these people are, Then I think it deserves a thread of it's own. Especially as thecount and his cronies have been invading the MSE boards to encourage people to sell at a loss.
On this thread on HPC they are mocking a seller trying to sell their flat.

Eventually thecount and his cronies invade the MSE thread encouraging the OP to sell for a loss, here are his words of wisdom;

If no one is coming to view, the price is too high. If no one can borrow that amount of money, the price is too high. When the valuers come round they wont be saying its worth what you or the agent think.
My advice would be to cut the price, sell as soon as you can for the smallest loss possible and rent.
Go stand outside your flat and really look at it and ask yourself would I want to pay 150K for it in the current economic situation ?
Now roll forward 5 years, the OP didn't t sell in the end until last year, where they made a profit

If they had hung on a bit longer, they would have made even more.

So glad the OP ignored thecount, hung in there, road it out and came out on top.

If you think they are so subversive and dangerous why don't you report them to the security services?!
Seriously though if you don't like the views expressed there don't visit the site and certainly don't attack individual posters.
So they want lower house prices and disagree with current economic policies being practised - so do millions of renters in their 20s and 30s. It's not a crime - they just disagree with you.
Just accept that and move on!0 -

They tried to encourage someone to sell for a loss, didn't declare they had a vested interest in the OP doing so.
As time has shown, their advice was incorrect to that the poster. I feel sorry to the fools who have listened to them in the past.0 -
Have you ever thought about getting yourself a hobby?0

I think the first part of your post is a bit unfair to be honest. The idea that many people on a website called "House Price Crash" want / expect lower house prices should not really come as a surprise to anyone. And it was probably their genuine view that prices had further to fall, and a decent case could have been made for that view at the time.
Now of course, as it turned out, that view was spectacularly wrong, and I feel sorry for anyone who has lost the security of home ownership as a result of the economic turmoil of recent years. Pointing out the error of someone else's view in hindsight is fair enough if that's your thing (and outright ridicule is perhaps justified for those who continue to repeat the same line in the face of continued contrary evidence), but much as I have no time for the Count and the rest of the "extremist wing" of HPC, suggesting that the posts you refer to were all some kind of conspiracy is taking it a bit too far imho0 -

It's not really about being wrong or being right in hindsight, is it?
People come in good faith to the house buying and selling forum to ask for advice.
They shouldn't be as gullible as to take advice from strangers on internet forums I hear you say. The thing is, some people are just gullible.
Similarly, I don't see the more bullish posters on MSE flooding the house buying and selling board with messages of 'buy now' and 'buy as expensive as possible'.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
If people were offering what they thought was good advice, what is the problem? That is why others have the ability to second guess or contradict the advice. If these people believed prices would crash, then they were offering what they thought was good advice, silly as it may have been.
However, on the flip side, I'm not convinced the advice was entirely altruistic. Some of the posters over there don't just want a crash, they seem to think they can bring it on just by spreading "the word". Some of those posts on that thread have that ring to it.0 -
