If you want to continue with Norton £22 on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_6?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=norton+internet+security+2016&sprefix=Norton%2Caps%2C1510 -
Pretty much all of them are as good as Norton, many are better.
As above, renewals should never be made via the suite - always buy a new license (if you want to stay with the current suite).0 -

Also worth remembering that most (if not all?) do a 1 month free trial, so once the licence runs out, uninstall properly including all previous licence details, then reinstall and only start your new licence at the end of the trialNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -

That's the thing about opinions ... that's all they are.0

Might be worth digging around your internet providers website. BT, for example, do free security software called NetPortect Plus - (McAfee) for their customers. Yours might do similar.

Free Kaspersky if you bank online with Barclays .0

I wouldn't install McAffee for free-or even if they paid me to use it.
Avast is another good free option if you can't get Kaspersky. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Best 2 Internet Security, as published by several independent bodies:
Bitdefender Total Security 2016 and Kaspersky. In that order. That is not just my opinion, but the industry's.
I have had Bitdefender for 3 years and it just works in the background. I buy from Amazon, if bought as a download from BD, it is more expensive and I would then need to buy the disk backup separately.
If you change from Norton, use the Norton uninstall Tool: -

Norton is very difficult to remove without this, it stays on your system and conflicts with the next I.S. product you install, if you try to remove it manually.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
