Never Really Invested Before

My husband and I want to downsize leaving us with around £200,000 to invest, with another £20,000 each year for the next 15 years or so.

We've never really invested before because we have always had a family and mortgage to pay for. My husband thinks the only worthwhile way is to get into buy to lets, as we have had 1 flat for 19 years now. I dread the thought of dealing with tenants though and would love to find something else to do with the money.

I'd be grateful for any advice, as I really don't want to mess this up, it's all the money we have.

For that amount of money and your lack of experience you should talk to an IFA A small local firm would be better that a big national one, and both would be better than a bank.
