Boat building challenge

I am a window cleaner in London and looking to organise a boat building competition in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Got July 2nd pencilled in as a date for the event
Contacted all the local authorities police, council, canary wharf management (land owners), canal and rivers trust all of which are happy for the event to go ahead as long as the paperwork is in order which is a work in progress.

The idea is to charge teams 30 pound entrance fee they then get a battery powered motor and have to build a boat using that we will then time to travel along a 50 metre stretch of a dock near to my workplace. propellers batteries and components and additional motors will be the only parts of the boat not made from recycled materials.

Also going to run a pirate themed treasure hunt alongside it 5 pound entry per child they then get a map to follow and a foam sword to do battle with a terrible pirate who will be guarding the booty.
Possibly a cake/biscuit stall.
I am trying to think of some ideas for nautical themed games/stalls to raise more funds any ideas would be a great help

I did look into hiring a surf board simulator but the cost of the ones I have seen are close to 400 pound and I cannot see enough people getting on this over the course of the day to justify that expense.
