Multiple reward accounts

Hi
I have received a letter from the Halifax informing me that my personal reward account will be changed to a basic account as I also have a joint reward account thus I am duplicating all the insurance benefits. I originally opened the accounts for the free overdraft but my overdrafts have risen and the benefits are minimal if any. This got me thinking have I been miss-sold this account and why inform me now not years ago when they changed the account to daily charges from interest. Would like to hear opinions.

Assuming you opened both accounts voluntarily, it was up to you (not the Bank) to realise that you were duplicating your insurance cover. The Bank have written to you because of the duplication, but that doesn't mean there was any mis-selling, as the Overdraft benefits were useful to you at the time of the sale (even if they are not now)
