British Gas Pre Payment
Hi everyone,
I wonder if someone can clear something up for me. I was up until recently living with a house mate. He was responsible for the gas an electric. He fell behind with both and got into a huge debt. British gas forced him to have pre payment meters for both his gas and electric.
Hes now moved out leaving the meters with a huge debt. I called up BG yesterday and I was told they won't remove the meters until the debt is paid in full and because I have been living here I'm responsible for the debt.
Ideally I want to but both gas and electric in my name and get rid if the pre payment meters but I'll be damned if I'm paying his debt on them. Combined it's over £800.
Does anyone know if they can actually do this?
Thanks in advance
