Want to change but like app features

Hi all

Was wonderIng if i can get some advice on changing provider.

Currently with npower for dual fuel and theres been lots of talk about the big energy suppliers still charging more for services than smaller energy companies. I am also receiving email alerts that i am paying way more and could be saving as much as £150 per annum.

I really want to look around but a few things are stopping me.

I know it doesnt pay to be loyal but i have been quite happy with my current provider and i also love the detail of my bills and usage using the npower app on my ios and android device and really dont want to lose these features. My concern is moving to a smaller suppier i may lose this benefit. By using the app it also helps me to ensure i provide monthly meter readings to ensure accuracy of bills.

I also want to move to having one of these systems where i can control my heating on my mobile device. I believe we can see some savings here by having more control of when our heating is turned on and when it is not required. At the moment its a basic timer which is the same time every day. I know there has been a mixture of reviews with this technology but what would be my options with something like this, could i potentially receive better deals if i move provider? Also what happens when i leavethat provider for a better deal later on, do i need to return the equipment or would i need to pay extra charges?

Any advice on these questions would be most appreciated.

Thanks
