Immersion Heater - Water Not That Hot - Some Advice Please

You don't need a new tank unless it is scaled up. You may need a replacement element-not a major job. You most certainly do need a tank jacket-about a tenner. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I cannot get my mind around the fact that 2016 there are still people with uninsulated hot water tanks. There is absolutely no reason not to insulate the tank. The insulation would in no way interfere with replacing the element..
Having said that, tanks with loose insulation jackets are rubbish compared with tanks that come with rigid insulation applied. I speak from experience here.
If the tank is replaced then get one that comes with insulation. Otherwise make sure that you fit a loose jacket asap.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
