Hi - we have had french doors put into our new home going outside
The drop is slightly too high to the outside. Does anyone know the best place to buy a step/concrete block (whatever looks and works best).
I am considering building one myself using bricks and slabs (but they would need cutting to size - so prefer to just buy something correct size to drop down) We have something similar on our back door (was already there when we bought)
thanks.

How high is the drop and how high do you want the step?
You could shutter around it and mix some concrete to make the step, make it short so you can put paving slabs on top, use regular bricks around the outside, once dry fill with concrete then put slabs on.
The options are vast.
What do you have on the other door? Perhaps you should try to copy that?

Hi - the drop isn't massive - probably about 13inch (just a bit too high).
The other step is just a massive rectangle of concrete. Would prefer something pre-made so I dont have to mess about doing anything (but will do if that's best choice)0 -
How about a simple timber box. Made one out of decking board when the dog's hips became too knackered to cope with the back doorstep. You don't say what the surface is outside the door is - if it's concrete then it can just stand on that, if not a couple of slabs on the grass for the contact points should be sufficient. You could even knock up a matching one for the other door covering the concrete lump ...0
