New 15" laptop under £200 - suggestions?

Appreciate suggestions for a new laptop under £200, must have 15" screen or larger, prefer to see 4gb ram and 500gb hdd, or better of course!). Don't mind the OS. Would consider A1 grade (open box) returns, as long as it has a full warranty.

Had a look at the usual, but Savonlaptops, Direct laptops, etc.

Polite suggestions please...........................and thank you.

Note prices plus vat and no OS, OS is extra unless you have other means.

Thanks for the suggestion, tried MCS Technology as suggested. Worries me if there is no phone on on the website - got a couple of nos (they have an Ebay shop too) but no answer and no answerphone. Also slow to respond to my email - its only natural you want to know a little more about cheaper refurbed offers, how old, marks, etc.

Its surprising there is so little out there, must have all been sold in the Jan sales. I am also surprised as there were quite a few offers b4 xmas for sub £200 laptops, Lenovo were selling a reasonable one (new) for approx £160, but no longer.............

Be serious. You know exactly how old they are. Two minutes of research will tell you that. If you are worried about marks on cheaper refurbs offers.... send an email and be patient. :) They have zero negative feedback. Seriously...

Thanks. Actually I also saw other ratings for MCS where they got very low marks, which is a good enough reason for me to do some research, as any sensible guy would do for a company they've never heard of..

As I said and I repeat, if there are in addition no answer to phone calls, and I did try them several times over several hours. Yes I know the laptop was probably 3 years old just the time that Dell had all the problems with the solder on laptop graphics chips - you will no doubt remember that too?

This has nothing to do with impatience its to do with sensible risk management, and as far as that is concerned everyone has a different tolerance to risk. - I wouldn't deign to criticise others if their tolerance was different to mine.

I posted as I thought it might help others, it was not intended to criticise

Erm... we are referring to age and marks on the casing. Age you can ascertain quite easily and marks are no mark of reliability. All I suggested is that you should be patient and that you shouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater because they are unable to answer the telephone.
I've also dealt with small family run companies that aren't always able to answer the phone and they turned out to be fine. So keep trying and I hope that you get the answers that you require.
