Thomascook your seat your choice

Hi, I have booked a holiday to Las Vegas in February 2016 (4 weeks away) this was booked in September 2015. All was well during the booking process and I got confirmation back. I opted for the free your seat your choice option which they offer free for long haul flights when booked through a package (Thomascook online) I got an email confirming the exact seats for the outward journey and inbound journey.
A week or so later we invited mine and my wife best friend with us who is a single widowed lady to join is on holiday so she went ahead and booked the seat next to us. She got an email confirming the said seat.
This week I checked with Thomascook everything ok and they said MY booking didn't have any pre booked seat for the outward journey but did on the return. I said that is wrong as I have an official confirmation email saying what seats booked etc ( I am no dummy this is a confirmation emailing confirming seat/costs etc). They said no problem we will book those seat now for you. Upon trying they are getting errors which won't let them REBOOK them and there is nothing I can do BUT they did say they could be booked by someone else and we would be left separated from our friend.
Thomascook confirmed they have a new computer system which is causing lots of problems but this is not my fault. How do I stand if I get to the airport and the seats have been sold to someone else. Can I demand the seats ? I have an email confirming these are my allocated seats.
How should I approach this ? I have phoned twice now and all attempts to rebook those seats have failed with an error no one has ever seen before.
I realise this is no big deal to some people and there are bigger issues in life but when it is your first long haul flight with 2 female nervous flyers, it is a big deal.
Thanks in advance

Ask to speak to a manager?
Clearly only one person can sit in the seat so if they double booked it then one of you isn't going to get the seat. I'd say it boils down to who booked it first, bear in mind that may not be you even though you booked it in September.0 -
Whats the airline? Try calling them and explaining and perhaps they can confirm whether the seats are yours or perhaps they can rebook you and your friend into 3 seats elsewhere? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

It sounds like the airline is TCA.
Have they tried booking you three fresh seats OP?
If still no joy I would suggest getting to the airport early, before check in opens, so you can be at the front of the queue when it does. Keep calm when asking for help at the airport, any sign of kicking off and you're unlikely to even make it on the plane.0 -

TCX are a chartered airline. Chartered flights tend to go places like cancun, tenerife, orlando etc (those that are hotspots for package holidays rather than city breaks).
Also just checked the thomas cook airlines site and the flights being offered by them to vegas are with scheduled airlines like Lufthansa. Hence my question to OP.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
