Did a bit of DIY on finances when I was off just after New Year.
1/ Sky-was paying £31, OH & son are Formula F1 fanatics so managed to haggle down to £16 for Sky HD F1 channel & a few other channels.
2/ Talk Talk, phone line, calls & broadband, was paying £30 a month.
Got free call to landlines & mobiles (with the offer to stay with them after the leak of data) then said I'd still leave, so go free broadband.
Then said the £17+ line rental was more than I wanted to pay. So paid £110 up front and nothing to pay for 12 months at all.
3/ Changed gas & elec-should be saving about £15 a month-we will see!
4/ Changed bank accounts -£125 to be paid soon, and another £100 with OH changing his account.
5/ Shop around at time of renewal for cheapest car & house ins-so nothing done there.
6/ On water meter already.
7/ Don't use mobile much, but was on a £9 a month deal, got a £5 month deal with enough date/ texting for my requirements.
Can't remember what else I did now, but I think I've saved a fair bit. Usually I'm on the ball all the time, but had let some things slip in 2015.
All paperwork filed orderly & feel better for being to top of things.
