Tesco HUDL Proportional Refund

Hi,
Im after some advice please.
I purchased 3 Tesco HUDLs for my kids last Xmas (Nov 14) and ALL 3 have developed the same charge port fault.
This is a common problem and there many discussions about it.
When the first one went i was happy to replace the port but then the second and third ones went and now the first one has gone again!
I contacted Tesco who after a month or so have offered a proportional refund of £20 per HUDL, no repair or replacement.
I was surprised as i was expecting to be offered refurb units.
I know they are not high end but I would expect a device like that to last more than a year and to have 3 separate ones go with the same fault doesn't seem fair. Even with the £60 offered I can't even replace one of my kids Xmas presents!
Do you think:
A. Take it, you were lucky to be offered that
B. Refuse it and push for repair/refurb
Many thanks

The HUDL range is discontinued, I can't imagine there's a huge amount of refurb stock laying around. You could push for that, I would imagine it would be a dead end though.
If it were me though, on a gut reaction, I'd want more money than that.Determined to be Debt Free!

OP how much did you pay for the Hudl altogether? Did you use vouchers, discounts and/or clubcard vouchers or pay the whole price outright?0

Hi guys,
Thanks for the replys.
I paid £79.99 each, no vouchers. I got them from Tesco Direct.

Paid £80 each on fairly low-end consumer items. I'd expect a life span of 3 years max (36 months), you've had them 14 months. By linear calculation that should give you a refund of almost £50, however depreciation isn't linear ... after a year it's probably lost half the value.
£20 each refund is a little low but not pathetically so. I'd push for £40 each and settle for £30.0 -
I think you should get some Znaps when they come out... no more broken charging ports:
