  • We're getting married in the Crawfordsburn Inn,

It's lovely & oldy worldy in some parts & also modern as well. Prices for the packages were competitive as well, £60 a head for us and we get loads for that

May be worth taking a look, best of luck with all the planning x

Thats exactly where I was going to recommend. I got married there in 2013 and it was excellent!

Bit far for you but Drenagh House are now doing weddings etc. Big country estate near Limavady. I have a niece from Limavady getting married there in the Moon Gardens in May. Also been there myself for a private party
And by the way £75 is probably the norm for a decent venue nowadays

Drenagh was up for sale a couple of years ago. Did it not sell?

Yes, lot of the land was sold but the house and grounds were held by the family. They are now being run by manager doing the weddings and events etc. Great location
I started out with nothing......And still have most of it left:p

Is that what happened? They had over 500 acres behind those walls. The house looks like a millstone, though.

They'd been hiring it out long before the sale was tried.

Grace Hall near Lurgan is apparently great for weddings. My friend works for an outside catering company and has seen a lot of wedding venues but particularly raved about this one.

She was also impressed by this one but it may not be everyone's ideal of a traditional wedding venue

Where are you from, and how far are you prepared to travel for a venue?

Also what numbers do your expect and what type of venue are you looking for - is the ceremony in a church or a civil ceremony?

Ballyduggan mill is very nice, only part I didn't like about it is there is a lot of moving between floors, so it seems a bit disjointed.

Ceremony was on the groundfloor, drinks on top floor, then middle floor for the meal, then top floor again for evening part.

    Other suggestions:

Millbrook Lodge hotel in Ballynahinch, it's got a nice kind of boutique hotel feel to it and it's very shabby chic decorated, lovely driveway, nice grounds for photos etc.

Try the Burrendale hotel, also in Newcastle if you are there looking at the Slieve Donard.

    Canal Court Hotel, Newry

Montalto Estate & Carriage Rooms, Ballynahinch (Have to hire outside catering etc)

    Larchfield Estate

    Parkanaur Manor House, Dungannon

Are you prepared to travel over the border - Carrickdale Hotel, not far from Newry is lovely.

Check out each councils website and they should have a list of approved venues
