Hi folks
Myself and OH planning to get married in 2017. Currently looking at wedding venues.
Anyone know of any hidden gems? Not interested in Galgorm.
We viewed the Killyhevlin and the Culloden recently. Like them both a lot but Culloden would be better as more local. Only problem is its £75 a head! Mad to pay that?
Just hoping to hear some suggestions of other places that you could recommend. Considering driving down to the Slieve Donard in Newcastle for a look.

The Manor House, Enniskillen
We got married there, and our neice is getting married there in 2017.
Lovely venue.0 -
Bit far for you but Drenagh House are now doing weddings etc. Big country estate near Limavady. I have a niece from Limavady getting married there in the Moon Gardens in May. Also been there myself for a private party
And by the way £75 is probably the norm for a decent venue nowadays
http://www.drenagh.com/I started out with nothing......And still have most of it left:p0 -
Clandyboye Lodge? (won't let me post a link)0

La Mon house hotel Belfast?0

75 a head is expensive. The merchant's top package was £75 a head last year. It's 5 star hotel territory.
Drenagh is nice, I looked at them when I got married, just before the administration. When I looked it was pretty much set your own menu with the outside catering and outside bar service, so very flexible budget wise. The 1 am lights out put me off a bit too, but a great setting. It was working out a lot cheaper than 75.0 -
We're getting married in the Crawfordsburn Inn,
It's lovely & oldy worldy in some parts & also modern as well. Prices for the packages were competitive as well, £60 a head for us and we get loads for that
May be worth taking a look, best of luck with all the planning x0 -
How many do you expect to be going to the wedding? Somewhere like the Killyhevlin can hold quite a number of people (over 250 I think), so if you're thinking of having around 150 people they'll be lost in a room of that size.
Was at a wedding in Ballyduggan mill outside Downpatrick last year. It was a nice enough spot although they still seemed to be doing some work to it. Might be worth a look.
£75 definitely sounds expensive. When they package things up in a price like that they might include things like cars, drinks reception, chair covers, extra courses for the meal, etc... You might not want the half of it so no point paying an inflated price like that.
We looked at the hotel out past Templepatrick, forget the name of it now. £800 for room hire if you didn't go for their £70 package, or it was included if you paid £70 per head. Told them where to go0 -
Corick House in Clogher is beautiful with amazing gardens0

Google Orange Tree House in Greyabbey. Looks lovely, they just started hosting weddings this summer and its something a bit different0
