    Alls I know customers moan if they get blocked and then they also moan when the bank doesn't.

    When I opened my Barclays account (online) I had to answer 4 multiple choice questions about what accounts I opened, where I lived at such a date and something else, I thought it was standard with Barclays but it must of been a security thing

    No, I've had to go through this line of questioning a couple of times and no search was recorded.

    I believe financial institutions are able to subscribe to a live feed of credit information for their existing customers, which presumably is how this works.
