Linking Amex card to existing Avios account

Hi,

I'm currently looking at getting one of the Avios cards and wondered whether, when you open one, it "creates" an Avios account for the card, or if you could "link" your card to an existing account (or move points around)?

I have an Avios account now with some points in, not loads, but ideally I'd like to combine them all.

Any advice appreciated,

You can link it to your existing account. I think you provide your Avios (or BAEC) account number as part of the application.
