Betfair / Paddy Power plc aquisition, effect for shareholders

Hi can anybody explain to me in simple terms what the immediate effect will be on Betfair shareholders, ie Betfair shares have climbed quite well for some time now and so I have enjoyed some good gains but will this aquisition change that for me?
I have tried to decipher the info sent to me but unfortunately some I don't fully understand and as much as I Googled there was nothing I could find that told me what impact this will have on the Betfair shareholders, the general talk of the new company that will be created out of this is that it will be one of the biggest online companies of its type.
I don't find these things the easiest to understand, they always seem to be written in an ambiguous way.
This is what my info says
[FONT="]As a holder of Betfair Group plc Shares you have been offered 0.4254 of a Share in the new Company, Paddy Power Betfair plc for each Betfair Group plc Share held[/FONT] [FONT="]How will my portfolio be affected? [/FONT][FONT="][/FONT]
[FONT="]Based on your current holding, you would receive:
[/FONT]
[FONT="]Current holding of Betfair Group plc: 115 Shares[/FONT]
[FONT="]New Paddy Power Betfair plc Shares offered under the Scheme: 48 Shares[/FONT]
From reading all the info it doesnt seem to make it completely clear. Will I keep all my Betfair shares and get shares in the new company aswell or will I receive new shares instead of my Betfair shares?
I realise no one can predict the future and past performance is no guarantee etc but what is the the view of what will happen for current Betfair shareholders from you "more knowlegeable in this area" people, am I likely to keep seeing good gains or will it all slow down for me?

Ok thank you for that, but any opinion on what to expect regarding share price behaviour after this date, optimistic, pessimistic, I wont hold you to it, I'm just after a general consenus of opinion?0 -
